☀️🌊🛝🌾Local Fun Parks & Favorite Hidden Gems

As a stay at home mom, I am always looking for fun,local activities and parks to keep the littles busy throughout the summer. Aside from dance camp and swim lessons and other activities and vacations we have lined up for summer, it’s so important for me to be making memories with our children and enjoying them and important for them too. If you’re anything like me, certain days you just need to get out of the house otherwise you feel cooped up and the kids can begin to act out. I am all for local day trips that are a stone’s throw away that do not interfere with naps. I have been Sharing and taking you with me along the way this summer and sharing where some of our favorite locations are. I have been getting some great feedback. Here are some of our favorites local to us. 

Southwick Zoo Mendon 

This is one of our summer musts every year. Southwick zoo has a number of exotic  animals to see in addition it also has rides. It is perfect for families with young children and just a short distance from Boston.

Ryan’s Amusement Millis 

This hidden gem is super close to us and a great place to go on a rainy day. Ideal for families looking to get out of the house and have a little local fun. It has a bowling alley and arcade. 

Tangerini’s Millis

Millis Tangerini’s is our absolute favorite local farm. In early summer enjoy strawberry picking, late summer enjoy sunflower picking and then in fall they offer pumpkin picking to name a few. This farm also offers hay rides and animals to visit as well as a little café that serves breakfast and lunch and fabulous ice cream. On the weekends enjoy a live band right on the patio and the most delicious bloody Mary’s and mimosas. 

Hinkley Park and Beach Medfield 

We just found this park recently this summer. This park is perfect because not only does it have a beach it’s very shallow for the Littles and it also has a playground and snack bar. It’s very clean and if you’re looking for something local where you can cool off and not have to drive far where it interferes with nap this is the perfect solution.

Kingsbury Club Medfield

Our family are members here however you don’t not have to be a member to enjoy the the lessons or the summer camp. This club offers swim lessons, tennis lessons, summer camp and much more. The pool is absolutely fabulous, they have a snack bar, and childcare services available if you are looking to work out and you’re a member. 

Oakland Park Medway 

Oakland Park might just be our absolute favorite park we have found this summer. This is another park we just recently found and we just love it. It’s fun for the whole family! With a large field and walking track for mom, a sandbox that offers plenty of shade for the Littles and an amazing playground to keep them entertained, it is just perfect for a quick day trip to get out before nap.

Rockwood Road Park Norfolk 

This park is the perfect, worry free playground for young children. With its turf grounds, safe structures and a completely covered shaded sandbox with picnic tables. It’s the perfect spot to go. 

Goodwill Park Holliston 

This park is another hidden gem that’s local and easy with a large sandbox and plenty of structures for the kids to enjoy. The rock climbing structure is one of our favorites as well as the sandbox again, with plenty of shade to be able to enjoy safely. Plenty of picnic tables to pack a lunch and enjoy with the family. 

Oak Grove Park Millis 

I might be biased only because our sons playground structure, “Rainbow Railroad” is located here, we just love this park! This park has small structures for Littles and also a more advanced structure for the older kids. This park also has benches and a shady sitting area. There is also trails behind it where you can walk your dogs. It’s a wonderful park and one that will always  have a special place in our hearts. 

Sherborn Playgroud 

This playground is another hidden gem. Set back in a little hideaway, this rather large park has all the play structures the kids can dream of, a sand box, swings, basketball court, skateboard park and more. This park is fabulous! 

Choate Park Medway

This park is perfect for not only the play structures, slides and swings for the littles but it has a splash pad also and plenty of tables and shade to sit and have lunch. Perfect for a hot sunny summer day!
